When
it comes to making a decision, there is always some force that help us to take
decisions, sometimes the decision will be in our favor and sometimes it is not.
Here we discuss about some of those forces that makes us to choose or to take
decisions.
1 .
Safer
choice
2 .
Time
of Decision
3 .
Environment
4 .
Mood
at that time
5 .
Willing
power
- Safer choice:
When
we have more than one choice and have to decide
from these number of
choices, we start suffering from “choice overload” we start opting the easiest
choice, so the best and the easy decision we take is that have the safe and the
simple one. It’s a human tendency to select the easy option rather than going
to the tough one. The more decisions we make, the more tired our brain gets,
leading us to either give less thought to our decisions or choose lower-risk,
“Safe” options simply avoid the effort of making a difficult decision.
- Time of Decision:
The time of day will also
affect our brain’s decision making process. In the morning time the capacity to
make decisions is higher than in afternoon and night.
This is because in the
morning time Serotonin is at its natural high, which help to calm our brain.
This is a good thing because we feel less risk average in the morning because
of the serotonin in our brains, that’s why we can take risk and harder
decisions in the early morning.
Later
when the time passes, at the afternoon Serotonin start to decrease and due to
this we are at the position where we don’t want to take decision at all. So, if
we want to make an important decision afterwards then it’s important to give
our brain a little rest because “Decision Fatigue” is difficult to fix without
giving the brain a proper rest.
- Environment:
The environment where we
are living and taking decisions is also very important. As we know air
pollution is very bad. A study found that increase level of carbon-di-oxide
decrease our cognitive ability. The higher the carbon-di-oxide in the room, the
more sharply our mental abilities decline and its effects our decision making.
The best
way to get rid of this situation is to having plant in the office and houses
because they decrease the CO2 level. Along with plant a good ventilation is also
very important for fresh air Thus we can say that environment and the atmosphere around us has a major impact on our decision making. That's why living in Healthy environment is very necessary to calm our brain down.
- Mood at that time:
Mood of a person is also
very important while one take any decision and it is a very important force. Person's mental condition affect the choice of decision. Human can have so many moods,
sometimes he is happy another time he is sad or irritated. And often we seen
that the worst decision made by an individual is when he is sad or frustrated
or going through a stress phase. So, it’s very much important that the choices
which we made are at that time when our mind is free of negative thoughts and
mental condition is good.
So we can say that mood of a person at the time of taking any decision is very important because it can affect the future of ours. The decision we make today is somehow for the sake of our future. Thus be cool minded while taking any decision.
- willing power or Desire:
Willing power or we can
say Desire for something that we want is also one of the Force that affect our
decision making. People often attracts easily with fancy thing or gadgets or
what is good for their eye. So, the desire to get the thing whether it is off
their budget or in future it affect them financially. Desire for something is
the root cause of most of the bad decisions that somebody takes.
Desire is not overall a
bad thing but if we want something which affect us financially so it’s better
to make a proper plan and discuss with the people who are related to that
decision. Don’t make a quick decision on something. Be proper consulted on your
choice.
These are some Major forces that affect our decision. Furthermore,
there are some other forces too that affect our decision like Emotions, Feeling
for someone, under someone’s control etc. As Decisions are the most important
and vital part of an individual life so it’s very necessary that we take them
in a positive manner, have an open mind while taking those decisions. Try to
make decisions at the time when you are free from stress and other negative
thoughts.
Judgement and Action is very important force of decision making. AS the saying was “Think before you Act” so, all we have to do is to keep calm our mind and have a little time before decide anything. And at the end of the day what so ever decision you take will be good and worth value
